Sophie Ellis-Bextor (born 10 April 1979 in Middlesex, England) is a Multi-Platinum selling english popsinger and songwriter. Her music is a combination of mainstream pop, indie, discoand 80s electronicinfluences. She used to be in a band called " theaudience", they had a couple of U.K. top 40 hits, and a top 20 albums, but disbanded after that. After, she rose to fame as the guest vocalist on the #1 (UK and Australia among others) track "Groovejet (If This Ain't Love)" in 2000 and since then has had much solo success, top 10 U.K.
